Nicoletta di Leo is a PhD student at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) . She studied at the University of Pisa, where she obtained her BSc and MSc degrees in molecular and cellular biology (the latter with honors). In this period, her interest for nanomedicine arised. After graduation, she carried out a short training period at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Pisa, where she learned to perform immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry and molecular biology techniques. Currently, she works on the development of nanostructured systems for brain drug delivery, in particular to treat glioblastoma and neurodegenerative disorders.
