I obtained a M.Sc. Degree (Laurea Specialistica) in Biomedical Engineering at University of Pisa in 2015 (full marks, cum laude). My thesis was entitled “Study and characterization of wearable sensors based on smart textiles for the measurement of infantsʼ natural movements” carried out at the BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e Perfezionamento Sant'Anna (SSSA). In December 2018, I obtained the Ph.D. in Biorobotics (full marks, cum laude) at the same institution, with a thesis on soft and flexible sensors for biomedical applications.
I’m currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in biorobotics with the BioRobotics Institute, SSSA, and I’m involved in EU-funded projects in the field of soft robotics (HybridHeart). My research interests include study and improvement of concepts and applications of textile sensors for pressure and strain detection. Moreover, I was involved in a national project whose purpose was the development and implementation of a tele-neuro-rehabilitation platform for home rehabilitation of children with hemiplegia. Within this research field, my attention is mainly focused on the analysis of bimanual upper extremities activities in children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
