Giulia Bosi is a PhD Candidate in Human Rights and Global Politics at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, Italy. Her doctoral project focuses on how international human rights law and international humanitarian law address population mental health.
She holds a ‘Laurea Magistrale a Ciclo Unico’ in Law (LLB + LLM, summa cum laude) from University of Bologna, where she was awarded as one of the best law students out of more than 5,000 people for three consecutive years, and a LLM in Transnational Law (distinction) from King’s College London.
Before starting the PhD, Giulia worked as research assistant for the Transnational Law Institute in London, as legal intern for the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva and as public affairs trainee for the European Organisation for Rare Diseases in Brussels.
She also volunteered for both legal and non-legal NGOs in countries such as Brazil, Peru, Tanzania and South Africa, and with different types of vulnerable groups, such as children, people with disabilities, asylum seekers and refugees.
Her main areas of interest are human rights, international humanitarian law, international criminal law and EU health law. More specifically, Giulia’s expertise lies in the right to health, the protection of healthcare during armed conflict and European patient mobility. In January 2021, she was appointed Italian Delegate for Health to the G7 Youth Summit (May 2021), the official youth engagement group for the G7.
