Inail Grants

Through the scientific collaboration between The BioRobotics Institute, the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome and the INAIL Prosthesis Center, the BioARM project aims to improve the motor function of patients with brachial plexus lesion thanks to the development of a new active orthosis fully portable. The new orthosis will allow the patient to restore autonomy in daily life activity.
Current care solutions mostly include passive shoulder and forearm support systems. The system developed by BioARM will consist of innovative actuators and intelligence systems able to support user movements and return sensory feedback.

The project involves The BioRobotics Institute (Wearable Robotics Lab coordinated by Nicola Vitiello and Simona Crea, and the Artificial Hands Area led by Christian Cipriani and Marco Controzzi), the CREO Lab of the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome led by Loredana Zollo, and the INAIL Prosthesis Center.
